2009 Sprite Slam Dunk champion Nate Robinson of the New York Knicks
will attempt to become the first three-time winner of the competition

Orlando To Lobby For NBA All-Star Game
It has been 17 years since Orlando hosted the All-Star Game.
Commissioners are preparing a pitch to host the 2012 NBA All-Star Game
in the City Beautiful, which would provide global exposure for the city,

NBA announces inaugural Dribble, Dish & Swish competition for kids
Dribble, Dish & Swish is free for boys and girls ages 7 to 12. The
competition gives participants the opportunity to showcase their
fundamental basketball skills and physical fitness through a time-based,
half-court obstacle course. More than 200 local competitions will take
place through late November in locations throughout New York, Los

two participants in each age and gender group across all regional
competitions -a total of six boys and six girls- will receive an

Commissioner: All-Star game in Orlando's future
NBA commissioner David Stern says the Orlando Magic will host an
All-Star game soon in their new arena.
"Without question, there is an All-Star game in Orlando's future." Stern
could not give a year but said he hopes it would be

New Orleans officials express interest in 2014 NBA All-Star Game
Jay Cicero, president/CEO of the Greater New Orleans Sports

Gary native Bill Tosheff to be honored at NBA All-Star Weekend
The longtime president of the Pre-1965 NBA Players Association has
been invited, along with 25 guests of his choosing, to participate in
this year's event -- although he's not quite certain as to why. For 20
years, Tosheff has represented the three- and four-year veterans who
were excluded from the NBA Pension inclusion in 1988. Since July of
2007, Tosheff estimates he's helped nearly 100 players and their
families get close to $3.5 million in pension money and catchup checks.

Garden seeks 2012 NBA All-Star
With a $500 million renovation planned for Madison Square Garden, the
Knicks are preparing an application to host the All-Star Game at the
earliest possible date. The renovated Garden is scheduled to be ready for
basketball by the 2011-12 season. The league has a history of awarding the
All-Star Game to new arenas, as it did in 2002 (Staples Center in Los
Angeles), 2005 (Pepsi Center in Denver) and 2006 (Toyota Center in Houston).

If Orlando hosts 2012 NBA All-Star Game, fans will party in tents
The goal is to showcase the city's $480 million arena, which breaks
ground Friday, with a planned opening in late 2010. Magic executive Alex

Celtics consider

The Celtics have the paperwork in hand to apply to host an NBA All-Star
Game as early as 2010. They will make a decision on whether to apply after

The Miami Heat center was not on the list of Eastern Conference reserves

game with NBA
The NBA and New Orleans have made significant progress in preparation
