MVP: Kevin Durant (West)
West started on fire from the very first minute (7-0) with 2 shots by
Kobe Bryant. Kevin Durant finished the quarter with a game-high
13 points. The second quarter was a scoring party, breaking some
All-Star Game scoring records: most
points at halftime (88) and most points scored in a quarter (90 points, both
teams). Russell Westbrook was the star in
the West with 15 points and a few spectacular shots and dunks, and leaded an
early 18 points advantage. A 3-point shot by Blake Griffin at the buzzer made all these records happened.
Kevin Durant (21 points) and Dwyane Wade (14) were the highest
scorers for each team.
After Pitbull halftime show, Lebron James started making 3-pointers
(15 points in this quarter) and the East came back to fight the game, only
12 points behind (124-112). With the second units playing in the first
minutes of the fourth quarter, Kevin Love 8 points and battle gave
again a 20 points advantage to the West, but a late push back leaded by
Deron Williams, Carmelo Anthony and Lebron (they scored 25 points
in the last minutes) make an exciting ending, but finally Dwyane Wade missed
a 3-point shot at the buzzer to force an overtime.
Kobe Bryant became the highest scorer of NBA
All-Star Games history with 271 points. Michael Jordan was the record-holder with 262 points.
Dwyane Wade made history with a
triple-double: 24 points, 10
rebounds and 10 assists, becoming the third player in the All-Star Game
able to do this feat. The first player was Michael Jordan in
1997 and the second Lebron in
2011. Wade also made one of the highlights of
the game breaking
Kobe's nose after a hard foul.

Slam Dunk Contest: Jeremy Evans
Utah Jazz forward Jeremy Evans won what in my
opinion was a very weak Slam Dunk Contest. His best dunk was a jump over
teammate Gordon Hayward where he caught and dunk the balls Hayward threw
in the air.
The contest included guest stars (Kevin Hart and Puff Daddy), tributes
(White Men Can't Jump film, Larry Bird, Karl Malone and Cedric Ceballos)
and even a dunk by Paul George with the lights turned off.
